Land sailing... go faster than the wind.

Land sailing crafts can reach 2 to 3 times the speed of the accompanying wind. Under normal wind conditions, our land sail may reach even 35 mph. Land sailing on Aruba is exciting... your ultimate fun in the sun. Aruba Active Vacations s is the only company which provides land sailing on Aruba. Land sailing is quite easy to learn. You are navigating with your legs and you control the sail you with a sheet rope – just pull the rope to sheet in to step on the gaz and refrain from pulling the rope for sheeting out and slowing down. The sail is about 5 square meters in size. Just sheet in and hold on for the ride of your life. Dare to do something you have never done before

Take a trip

We organize trips in the morning and in the afternoon. We pick you up at your hotel and bring you to the land sailing location. This can be either at the Salina (which is Papiamento for salt lake - although you won't find much salt there) close to the Fisherman's Huts, or we go to Aruba's beautiful North coast behind the light house. Both places are ideal for land sailing. The trip takes about three hours. You will get picked up at your hotel, have about 15 minutes of instructions and the rest of the time you will be zooming across the landscape of Aruba. After that you get dropped of at your hotel again. We provide non-alcoholic drinks, land carts and protective gear.

Your safety, our business

OK, every sport were you move your body from point A to point B involves a certain risk. As in all sports, your head is the best safety equipment you have....use it. During the photo shoot we went out with a couple of buddies and got a bit carried away. We did not use our safety equipment. Shame on us. When we take you out we provide safety goggles, helmets, gloves, knee and elbow pads. We advise you to come with shoes, this is no barefoot activity. At the beginning of the session we give you instruction. Drive carefully. Have fun.
